Since only starting the piano at 10 years of age Jason is a multiple prize winner at competitions.
He has won over 40 prizes in competitions such as the Feis Ceoil, EPTA piano festival, Newpark festival, Kilcoole festival, DIT, Wesley feis, and the Sutton Park music festival.
Notable achievements include winning 1st prize in the Junior Concerto Competition at the Feis Ceoil and being one of the youngest finalists ever in their renowned Senior Sonata competition, the Nordell Cup. In DIT Jason has won the Ita Beausang Trophy for concerto playing, the Lucy Donnelly cup for accompaniment, the Mai Byrne trophy for sonata playing, and the Marie Jones award for performance.
Outside of competitions Jason has received a ‘talent scholarship’ from DIT, the Music Scholarship to Sandford Park School, and his DipLCM from the West London University.
Jason studies with Shirin Goudarzi-Tobin and has received masterclasses from William Fong, Ronan O’Hora, Pavel Nersessian, Barry Douglas, and Denis Yavorsky.
He has performed at venues such as the John Field Room, National Concert Hall; the Kevin Barry Room, National Concert Hall; the First Presbyterian Church, Belfast; DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama as well as the Rathmines & Rathgar Musical Society.
As well as being a pianist, Jason is also a clarinettist. He is an ex-member of the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland in which he was the first clarinettist for 2 years. As part of the orchestra he toured the West of Ireland and the Netherlands, performing in numerous concert halls including the famous Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
