Musicianship classes at the Piano Academy of Ireland

This year, almost all children participated in Musicianship classes, and we are thrilled to see the positive effects of combined Piano-Musicianship training. While it may take some time to develop advanced skills, many parents have noticed an increase in their child's "musical intelligence" and confidence. The Musicianship faculty is extremely satisfied with the results they are achieving with the students. It is important to continue attending Musicianship classes while learning the piano in order to build up skills over time. We hope to see all of you back next September!
Musicianship work is lots of FUN!
Classes are interactive and can provide a lovely social contrast to the more concentrated and solitary piano lessons!
There are many advantages to taking music theory classes. Some of the top benefits include:

  1. Improved musical understanding. Music theory classes provide a comprehensive overview of the language and structure of music, and can help you to better understand and appreciate the music you play and listen to.
  2. Enhanced musical performance. A strong understanding of music theory can improve your technical skills and musicality, and can help you to become a more confident and skilled musician.
  3. Increased creativity. Music theory classes can help you to develop your own unique musical voice, and can provide a framework for exploring new ideas and expressing yourself through music.
  4. Improved communication skills. Music theory classes can help you to develop your ability to communicate and collaborate with other musicians, and can provide valuable skills for working in a group or ensemble.

Overall, taking music theory classes is a valuable investment in your musical education. It can provide numerous benefits, and can help you to become a more well-rounded and skilled musician.
Exemptions:
And as per school policy, the following enrolled students may seek an exemption from Music theory at PAI, with an immediate email to: director@pianoacademy.ie

1. Leaving Cert students
2. Those already taking a graded Music theory course at another institution where they are learning another instrument (Doing music in school does not constitute this)
3. Advanced level students, post grade 8.
4. Adults - our adult students are no different from our children and deserve the same ‘complete’ training and we highly encourage them to take a class appropriate for their level. We have seen with our own eyes the blossoming of many adult students over the years, and can put much of that blossoming down to the Musicianship training they have been getting (along with their piano) However we also understand the work commitments adults often have and hope that they will join in as soon as they possibly can.
