Lucy Byrne, Piano Tutor
Holding a DipABRSM in piano performance and an ABRSM Grade 8 in music theory, Lucy's commitment to excellence is evident. She has consistently secured a coveted position on the Young Artist Programme at RIAM, and further augmented her repertoire by being selected for the Eversheds Sutherland Accelerator Academy programme.
Her virtuosity has not gone unnoticed. Lucy is a recurring champion in numerous competitions, with wins including the Feis Ceoil, Wesley, Pianofest, Newpark, Arklow Music Festival, and EPTA. Her recent accolades include clinching the prestigious Nordell Cup in 2023, landing 2nd place in the Mabel Swainson Pianoforte Award in 2022, and securing 1st place in the Rhoda Coghill Cup. She is also the distinguished recipient of the coveted Ursula Uí Chuinneagáin bursary.
Earning a position among the elite four applicants for the William Finlay Programme, Lucy’s musical journey has been graced with numerous concert-playing opportunities. She has captivated audiences in celebrated venues such as the National Concert Hall, Tullynally Castle, Farmleigh House, the Boyle Arts Festival, and the Feis Ceoil Platform Concert Series. Lucy’s repertoire and technique have been further refined through masterclasses by piano luminaries including Finghin Collins, Phillipe Cassard, Hilary Coates, Michael McHale, John O’Conor, and Therese Fahy.
More than just a performer, Lucy carries an unwavering passion for teaching. With a rich palette of musical genres at her disposal, she curates a bespoke approach for every student, ensuring they unlock their full potential.
Lucy infuses her lessons with creativity, fun, and warmth, always aiming for students to find joy in music and empower them to express their unique voice.
